Water-soluble vitamins are basically Vitamin C , plus the Vitamin
B group (often referred to as Vitamin B Complex). Water soluble vitamins consists of the following : " vitamin B1 (thiamine) " vitamin B2 (riboflavin) " vitamin B3 (niacin) " vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) " vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) " vitamin B12 (cobalamin) " vitamin B9 (folate or folic acid) " vitamin B7 (biotin) " vitamin C Water soluble vitamins are used up by the body very rapidly, and so they need to be replenished every day. Water soluble vitamin supplements, in contrast to fat soluble vitamins do not pose as much risk to your health because if you take an excessive amount, the surplus is just washed out in your urine. However, because water soluble vitamins are not stored in the body you need to ensure you take them daily to replenish your body's supply by eating a range of healthy foods. This is where supplements may come in handy. Foods never deliver toxic doses of water soluble vitamins, however, extremely large doses delivered via concentrated vitamin supplements water soluble vitamins are considered by some experts to pose a danger to your health. |
